# Breakout Talents API

> One versioned HTTP API for referring talent and companies to Breakout Talents, reading your own referrals as a fellow, and (staff only) browsing the talent pool and pipeline.

Base URL: https://api.breakouttalents.com. Authentication: `Authorization: Bearer bt_live_…`.
All errors share one shape — branch on the `error` code, not the message.

- [POST /v1/referrals](https://app.breakouttalents.com/docs#post-v1-referrals): Refer a talent — Only `talent_linkedin_url` is required — but the more context you give, the better we can place the person, so send `reason` and `availability_hint` whenever you have them.
